About Us

Our Evolution
WorkScales evolved from LifeScales, which was established in 2002 by Madeleine Moore.  Madeleine set up the company because she believed that, with her combination of corporate management experience and psychological training, she could provide a valuable service to companies who were having to restructure and make redundancies or were experiencing problems in motivating and retaining staff.

Madeleine is a:

  • Founding Member of the Association for Coaching,
  • Senior Stress Advisor with the International Stress Management Association (ISMA),
  • Qualified member of the European Association of Horse Assisted Education  (EAHAE),
  • Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
  • Associate member of the CIPD
  • Prior to setting up her own business, Madeleine worked in managerial positions in the City for over a decade – with Baker & McKenzie, Hogg Robinson Skillbase and Bowring Marsh and McLennan.  She obtained a Diploma in Integrative Counselling Skills in 2000 with the London School of Counselling & Psychotherapy and trained with Professor Stephen Palmer PhD at the Centre for Stress Management, gaining a Certificate in Performance Coaching and Stress Management in 2004 and a Certificate in Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy in 2005.  She has also attended numerous coaching and CPD courses over the years.  As a result, she has helped dozens of companies and organisations, both in the private and public sector, improve leadership skills, reduce stress levels and motivate staff.  As she has always loved horses, she was really impressed when she was invited to her first equine guided leadership day in 2008 and subsequently decided to become qualified as a trainer.

Annie works as an associate with Workscales developing the Horse Assisted Learning (HAL) programme for corporate clients.  She is the owner of Letchmore Farm, where the learning takes place and has been a teacher for most of her adult life, specialising in Art and Design. She ran numerous painting holidays for adult students in the South of France and also wrote four books on calligraphy and practical aspects of graphic design.  Then Annie discovered horses and chose to follow the Parelli Natural Horsemanship Programme to develop her skills and techniques. Several years ago, Annie found out about the power of healing and horse assisted learning and attended the international EAGALA conference in Scotland.  There she learned about the developments that have been made in the USA and subsequently trained with EAHAE to develop her practical skills in order to facilitate learning programmes with her herd of seven horses.   She is also a qualified member of EAHAE.

We  employ several professional associates around the UK, so that we can cater for national as well as local demand.   WorkScales’ clients have included multi-national companies such as GlaxoSmithKline and local companies such as Cache,  Draeger Medical UK, Sentry Groundcare and McMullen & Sons.
